Framingham has seen plenty of race history play out on its stretch of race course year after year.Spectators approaching viewing areas on the course may be asked to pass through security checkpoints, and security personnel may ask to inspect bags and other items being carried.Traffic will be heavy, so give yourself ample time for travel. If you plan to drive to Ashland, please consider that roads near the race course will begin to close around 6:15 a.m.They will stop at ‘Lansdowne’ and ‘Back Bay’ which are near the 24.5-mile mark, and Finish Line respectively. Inbound trains will make stops in Framingham, Natick, Wellesley (along the race course) and Newton (far from the race course).The train station is about a mile from the 3.7-mile mark (6K) of the race. Catch an early train outbound on the Worcester/Framingham Commuter Rail line on the MBTA.Spotting your loved one in Ashland may be difficult because of high density of runners.The station is about a mile from the race course, so plan accordingly. Today, the rail line remains the best way to get in and out of Ashland from Boston. It was chosen as a starting point because of the train that went through town.
